Bummer

Well today I woke up and decided to go to the centre george pompidou, the center of modern art. I took the metro over there, and it seemed awesome, so I was thilled to go. All until I realized as I woke up on the door that it was closed on tuesday.... What type of building is closed on tuesday?

Oh well I decided to walk around town but then it started raining so I came back to the house. Here are some pictures.

The scary but nice day...

Today we went to the beach in a town called La Ciotat. It was super nice there and after seeing plentiful amounts of fish in the water, I decided to go on some long hikes.

The first of these hikes was the rock in the distannce on the left, and the second on the right. The first hike was really nice, ending in some good photos..

The second hike was longer but a little more disasterous; but with greater rewards picture wise, even thought I almost didnt get them down the mountain. Round trip Im guessing it was about 4 miles, with multiple 10 to 15 foot cliffs that I had to climb what a bummer..... it was harder then I expected and my shirt was drenched. It was an awesome view from the top, check it out.

And then, this happened.....

Good thing that I found my camera, or else I wouldnt have all of these pictures.

See ya,

The market and Ice Age

Hey,

Well last night, I experienced the cinema of France, watching Ice Age in 3D! It was pretty interesting..... The movie started out with previews, and then had a break when vendors could come out and sell food and drinks to the crowd. Then, they had more previews, followed by another break, and finally, the movie started. It was pretty interesting and I got most of the plot line (Sid finding the eggs, the animals going through the ice to where the dinosaurs are, the search for the guy who knocked their guides eye out) but I missed out on a lot of the jokes. That was a bummer because I didn't know what everyone was laughing about :(.

Then this morning we went to the 'farmers market', here are some pictures.

Today in Marsielle and the beach!

Today I went into Marsielle with my friend Mathieu. It was pretty awesome!

I was on a hill with a church with a 360 view of the city and it was a super nice view. The temperatures were in the upper 90s so we went to the beach for a while afterwards. We are going to go see Ice Age 3 in a little while! But it will be in french so I hope I get the plot line (if there is one haha) so it should be fun!
In the town that I am staying there is a cool fountain in the middle so I took a picture; here it is.

Two awesome things that I forgot to mention

Two things that I saw that I forgot to note on my first day of sightseeing.

First, in the cathedral of Notre Dame, there was an awesome city that they had built out of I have no clue.... Here are some pictures, it looks like it took months to build.

Also, in the musee d'Orasy, they had a model of the whole city of Paris. Now that probably took a long time to build. You walked right on top of it too!

This was pretty cool also.

My camera working!!!! And the ride on the TGV

Hey everyone,

I just expirenced the TGV (Train a grande vitesse) which was pretty amazing. Although the views weren't very good (mostly farmland) the seats were like riding in a first class section of any airplane. There were fold out tables in the middle of the seats which I found very nice to sleep on! Here in Aix en Provence it is up towards the upper 80 to the 90s in temperatures which is a little change from Breckenridge, Colorado, where I was only a week ago. That's pretty hard to believe! We are planning on going to Marsielle tommarow and to the beach on Sunday where it should be very hot so the water should feel good. Ill make sure to put on some more pictures in a few hours when my camera is charged since Matthieu (the guy im staying with) and I happened to stumble across probably the only electronics store in town! See you all later

Aix en Provence, tomorrow the third

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow is the third of July and I will be heading off to the southern coast of France. I don't know if I can update this blog there but I will try.

Today I went walking around town and was able to succesfully take four pictures before my interesting camera battery gave out. The pictures were from across the Seine River from the Eiffle Tower. I'll upload pictures later but my camera is still not functioning because of the battery.
